Cables stretched across walkways could be dangerous, so try and keep them secure against the wall. If this isn't possible, cover them with secure cable covers. Download our Spring Cleaning Checklist for more tips!
Space Heater Jam
Space heaters should be placed at least three feet away from anything that can burn or catch fire. Always turn them off before you go to sleep or leave the house!
Install smoke alarms on every level of your house, outside all sleeping areas and inside each bedroom. That way, everyone can hear the alarm in case of an emergency. Download this PDF to learn more.
Don't Forget the Flame
Keep matches and lighters in a safe place. Remind your teens if they want to light candles, they should make sure to keep them away from anything flammable and to always extinguish the flame before leaving the room.
Gun Safety Guidelines
Guns (if you own them and keep them in the house) should ALWAYS be locked up in a secured safe in the basement-stored far away from your kids and teens. The safety should be turned on, no exceptions.
